José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, former CEO of BBVA, has been appointed executive trustee of everis foundation. Goirigolzarri joins the board of trustees of everis, which now consists of 13 members: Eduardo Serra and Ricardo Penalva, president and vice president respectively, and executive trustees Antonio Massanell, Bonmatí Félix, Fernando Francés, Fernando Lacaba, Jaime Castellanos John de Zulueta, Jose Maria Bastero of Eleizalde, Juan Urrutia, Marc Alba, Maria Jesus Villa and Fernando Panizo.
His career has been linked to the BBVA Group, where he served as CEO until October 2009. During this period he was also a director of BBVA-Bancomer (Mexico), Citi Bank (China) and CIFH (Hong Kong). He has also been vice president of Telefónica and Repsol.
Currently he is dedicated to supporting new business ventures through Fundación Garum Fundatio, of which he is president, and also Azatrabis, a company of which he is a partner He is also vice chairman of Deusto Business School and chairman of the advisory board of the Benjamin Franklin Institute.
