everis was present at Indiasoft held on 25 and 26 March in Pune, India. everis was represented at the meeting by Javier Leal, a partner in outsourcing, and Jose Maria Diaz Moya, general manager of centres. Indiasoft, which has existed for ten years, is an event aimed at promoting IT companies and at this year’s edition over 100 companies and nearly 300 international delegates attended. Among the Spanish companies which attended were Gestor and Indra.
Indiasoft is organized by ESC (Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council) and its main purpose is to promote small and medium IT companies. everis was present in this edition, its aim was to get in contact with companies in the IT sector with experience in the development of certain technologies and expertise in testing services. Furthermore, the intention was to see for ourselves the reality of the IT sector in India and its position in relation to the Spanish and Latin American market.
The development of the IT industry began initially in the city of Bangalore, which is known as the Silicon Valley of India. Besides the large SW Indian companies, with more than 100,000 employees in each company, such as Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and Wipro, there are multinational IT services companies, for example, Accenture, Cap Gemini, Atos, etc. One of the main reasons for this development is the amount of skilled labor. Currently 2 million students graduate per year, of which 1,200,000 are engineers.
