everis has set out a SQL programming contest among students of the final year on Computer Engineering, at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV). This contest that began on May 12th, has had five winners who compete by category the following prizes: 1st an Apple Macbook, 2nd an Ipad 3G, 3rd an iPod Touch 8Gb and the 4th and 5th prize an iPod shuffle 2 GB. The winner, with a score far superior to the other contestants, has been Salvador Arnal, followed by Jorge Soriano, Juan Ferrer, Luis Ignacio Muñoz and Adell.
According to the HR manager in charge of the everis office in Valencia, Pablo Lozano, this initiative “reflects the everis commitment to facilitate access to the labor market for college students and contribute to their professional development”. “With this competition we also intended that students are aware of the importance of innovation, effort, participation and the eagerness to better oneself".
80% of everis professionals are university graduates. The company hires telecommunications and computer engineers, industrial organization, business administration or economics graduates, physicists and mathematicians. In addition, it is currently hiring professionals of vocational training in computer application development and system management. Nowadays, the company has already 9000 professionals worldwide.
Moreover, explained the director of the ETSINF, Eduardo Vendrell, "everis recently signed a partnership agreement with the UPV laying the groundwork for specific arrangements such as collaboration in research projects or sponsoring activities that promote learning".
