everis closed the financial year with a turnover of € 398 million, an 18% increase over the previous year.
The consultancy has also grown and now has almost 6,800 employees
Madrid, June 1, 2009. everis achieved a turnover of € 398 million and EBITDA of € 36 million during the fiscal year 2008 (April 1, 2008 - March 31, 2009), which represent a 18% increase over the previous year.
This increase in financial turnover reflects the consolidation and expansion of business in its offices in Spain, Europe and Latin America, as well as the commitment to new markets through the international area. Furthermore, this increase is also thanks to the boost given by the most recently created business units, everis business consulting, everis solutions, everis centers and everis BPO.
2009: Forecasts and lines of strategy
With regard to the economic forecast for next year the company hopes to continue increasing its financial turnover. However, taking the current situation into account, the expected growth figure for next year is 10%, in terms of both revenue and in EBITDA.
The company will focus on strengthening its presence in large corporations and seek business opportunities in new sectors and countries, providing efficiency and productivity as the real value differential. Among the goals for next year is the launching a new business unit, everis initiatives, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and harness the implementation of new business outside its core business.
People and careers
This economic growth has run parallel to the increase in employees in everis reaching the figure of almost 6,800 professionals at the close of fiscal year 2008, a net annual growth of 800 people. Approximately 80% of these new employees are university graduates who, via a survey, have recognized everis as a “Best Workplace” according to the results gathered by the American agency called “Great Place to Work”. Each year this agency carries out a survey based on employees´ perception of the company they work for.
With the establishment of its own Corporate University everis has strengthened its commitment to the development and careers of its professionals. The consultancy has invested more than € 9 million in its training programme, and has given 1,600 training courses, representing an investment of time of nearly 300,000 hours.
Innovation
Innovation is one of the important differentiating factors in the company. This area promotes and manages initiatives in innovation parks, regional development centres involved in education, research and consulting, and centres for the transformation of ideas and creation of value between the scientific world and the business sector.
A commitment to corporate responsibility
everis is aware of its social responsibility and therefore works to disseminate knowledge about information technology and its applications for companies through the everis Foundation. To carry out this objective the foundation supports activities to promote entrepreneurship, research and professorships. Its main beneficiaries are universities, public and private centres of research and development, and technology professionals in all fields.
