everis unifies the management of 8,000 employees
of the CELSA GROUP ™ in one single computer system

The SAP & Enterprise Solutions unit of everis has designed and implemented project HR 2009, to unify the management of the human resources (HR) department of the steel company CELSA GROUP ™, a leading company in this sector. everis has undertaken a 9-month project to create and customize a SAP solution for the HR management of the group, which until now was not a single unified system. This group eight large steel processing companies operating under the same brand in nine countries (Spain, UK, France, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Finland and Denmark) with more than 8,000 employees worldwide.

The project has succeeded in integrating data and applications relating to this area in a global system based on software from SAP Human Capital Management, in order to implement common processes between central offices and to provide comparative data. The multinational nature of the group requires the implementation of such a system that allows the heads of HR to take the right decisions and offer more personalized training.

To do this, everis developed a solution tailored to the specific needs of CELSA, taking into account the implementation of core global processes to manage global resources and at the same time considering local or national needs in each country where the group has a presence. The project also includes maintenance and integration of other solutions in the area of HR such as payroll administration, which will mean a saving in the ROI, or the charging or registration of hours worked.

Personnel management, a corporate portal and a new channel of information

The project has resulted in the standardization of data from Personnel Administration and the organigram of the group, so that the information is unified in a single database of employees for all countries and at the same time creating user interfaces.

everis has also introduced a new information channel for the employee: a corporate portal which can be accessed externally and where users access self-service applications such as modifying personal or banking data. Furthermore, the firm has developed a portal for heads of departments, where they can look up information regarding employees and access their work reports.

Staff from SAP & Enterprise Solutions everis, HR consultants, portal consultants and staff specialized in SAP Business Warehouse have all collaborated in this project.
