The insurance sector is immersed in a constant process of change and evolution, both in Spain and abroad, brought about by various differing factors. Everis would highlight the following critical points that currently affect insurance companies:
- Personal Income Tax (IRPF) Reform: The Sector, specifically life insurance, has been affected by the Personal Income Tax Reform (Impuesto sobre la Renta de las Personas Físicas – IRPF). This reform has affected all types of products (PIAS, Life and Temporary Annuities, collective PPAs, Collective insurance, which act as instruments for pension fund commitments) and must be applied without entailing a high implementation cost for insurers while avoiding operational risk. At the same time, this reform has given way for the creation of new products or the modification of existing ones.
everis has the knowledge and experience in creating centralized and sufficiently modularized fiscal applications so that any fiscal reform can be applied immediately to any type of product, without risks or relevant modifications in the business applications being necessary. - Law on Mediation: The Law on Mediation introduces the definition of a banking-insurance Operators as credit entities and companies controlled or participated by them, which through subscribing an insurance agent contract with one or various insurance entities and inscription under the special administrative regime created by this Law, perform the activity of insurance mediator as an insurance agent using the credit agencies’ distribution network.
everis can provide its knowledge and experience in Banking Distribution and Mediation, as well as in realizing Systems (Business) Plans that banks-insurers may need in the event of reconsidering the mediation structures. - Solvency II: The definition throughout 2005 and in early 2006 of what will comprise Solvency II, both in technical terms (calculation of provisions and capital requirements), and in terms of supervision, transparency and market discipline, has provoked a series of changes in the structures of insurance entities. These changes influence companies’ information structure and generation, which must adapt to the norms as well as the requirements of new sources of information.

In view of the sector’s current situation, insurance companies are investing in a model of integral fight against fraud with the double objective of rapidly reducing the losses recorded under this heading and minimizing the risk of future fraud.
