everis Aerospace, Defense and Security (everis ADS) is one of the companies participating in the DOMUS consortium, an initiative led by ENAIRE that aims to test the concept of drone traffic management systems: the U-space. This project is funded through the public-private partnership SESAR Joint Undertaking.

One of the main goals of this project is to conduct the most advanced demonstration of automated management of unmanned aircraft flights in Spain. This test will take place in the summer of 2019, when several exercises with drones and manned aircrafts will be carried out in a coordinated manner, in order to assess the usability of the system as a whole.

In the context of this project, everis ADS is developing key components of the system that will control the drones’ flight. In addition, SCR, a company of the everis ADS Group, participates as an operator, leading the execution of one of the use cases that will be demonstrated.

everis ADS and ENAIRE have already carried out integration tests for drone management systems and conventional air traffic control. Specifically, they held a joint demonstration during the celebration of the Annual Conference of the Global UTM Association (GUTMA in Spanish), which took place in Madrid last June.
