The everis Foundation has now closed its 16th call for participants to the everis Awards, having received a total of 1,042 entries. This year’s participation has been very high compared to last year’s, in which there were 679 entries.

This increase is also reflected in the international nature of the projects entered. This year the candidates come from 28 countries of Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa. Most come from Spain, followed by Chile, Portugal, US and UK.

The entries are in the areas of biotech, health, industrial and energy technology, and new business models in the digital economy. They will be judged according to their degree of innovation, their business model and their proposed solution. Winners of this first round, and the winners of the other local stages of the Awards in Argentina, Colombia, Italy, Mexico and Peru will go on to the semi-finals and final in Madrid.

These entrepreneurs will present their initiatives over six days in Madrid before a jury of experts, who are made up of everis directors, investors and professionals with a long track record in the area of technology, science and business. There will be six finalists from this evaluation stage (two per category), who will each receive advice and guidance worth €10,000. This comes from i-deals, a company from the everis Group specializing in technology entrepreneurship.

After this mentoring programme, the finalists will present their initiatives before a further jury, who will select the winning project. For yet another year the everis Foundation is maintaining its commitment to promoting innovation and supporting enterprise, providing an award of €60,000 plus advice and guidance for continued improvements to the project.
