everis-NTT DATA and Google Cloud join hands to provide the most innovative AI-based solutions in Europe
Wednesday, 06 October, 2021

everis-NTT DATA and Google Cloud have announced the signing of an agreement to jointly define and develop Artificial Intelligence applications based on Google Cloud.

The agreement initially considers three areas of collaboration: fashion, retail groceries, and consumer goods, with both companies making available numerous AI-based initiatives to the market. This is in response to the growing market demand for the agile integration of intelligent digital solutions in its value chain, which are also cost-effective and have a positive impact on ROAI (Return on Artificial Intelligence). The business cases considered are based on the Google Cloud suite and allow the integration of state-of-art developments related to Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.

In 2022, and following the strategic plan established by both organizations, the new portfolio of AI-based solutions will be extended to other sectors and niches in the market.

The collaborative framework of both companies includes building a team of experts from both firms, joint investment in developing AI driven prototypes and solutions, and everis-NTT DATA’s early access to Google’s roadmap for innovation. This will allow them to speed up the creation and implementation of new AI applications for clients, in order to respond to their business challenges.

To develop AI-based solutions for clients in the sectors of fashion, retail-groceries and consumer goods, everis-NTT DATA possesses a work methodology called “AI Driven Design & Prototyping Studio”, developed at the company’s Center for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence in Barcelona, and which brings together AI strategists and experts in these sectors, data science, development, engineering, architecture, digital solution design and user experience.

As explained by Mayte Hidalgo, Head of AI Strategy at the NTT DATA Center for Excellence in AI, and the coordinator of this initiative: “we’ve included more than 30 professionals from everis-NTT DATA and Google for the conceptualization, functional and technological design of these transformative business uses, which seek to generate business value in areas such as market analysis, the creation of new digital services, customer experience, operations and organizational transformation”.

In the words of David Ubide, partner director of Fashion and Retail at everis-NTT DATA, “For everis-NTT DATA, reinventing sectors such as fashion or retail with Google Cloud, especially in the field of AI, is to rapidly place our technological and business knowledge on the market. Our goal:  to help companies with their digital transformation strategy so they may adopt innovative cases of use and business models that generate greater customer satisfaction”.

According to Alberto Céniz, Strategic Accounts Finance & Retail & Enterprise Sales Manager at Google Cloud: “At Google Cloud, we offer specialized solutions to retailers, and we create technologies that take full advantage of our AI abilities. We are delighted to collaborate with everis-NTT DATA, one of our key partners in identifying the best ways to adopt these technologies in the digital transformation processes of our customers”.

Digital transformation impact has given rise to new business opportunities in all sectors, thanks to the availability of effective tools for taking decisions in real time, based on inference provided by analysis and cloud scalability. This new stage in this transformation encourages companies to seek the best tools to place them ahead of their competitors in every sector.

Some especially disruptive technologies are those that, by including AI technologies, permit the generation of a new relationship model between brands and persons. One example of this in the fashion sector are personal shopper initiatives, which maximize customer information to offer them hyper-personalized recommendations in their physical and digital experience, or those geared at identifying market trends and consumer analysis based on their social media presence. Other operating initiatives include intelligent inventory management and restocking, real-time fleet monitoring and optimization, or ensuring the safety conditions of employees in stores and in warehouses.
