A Spanish device for the reconstruction of cruciate ligaments, international winner of the everis Awards 2019

everis Foundation has held the gala presentation of the Global everis Awards 2019 to innovation and technological entrepreneurship in which 10 other countries from Europe and Latin America have also participated.

Juan Abascal, the Spanish representative, has been the winning entrepreneur with his WasherCapTM project. He has competed with other projects such as a brain device to recover hand mobility after a stroke; an intelligent coating to prevent builiding collapse during an earthquake or a system to eliminate pathogens from water without using chemical processes. 

Juan Abascal, winner of the everis Spain Award 2019 endowed with 30,000 euros, also receives 60,000 euros as the international winner, as well as mentoring by a team made up of specialists from the everis group.

The award ceremony of 2019 has taken place at the Casino de Madrid and was attended by David Rowan, founder and editor of the magazine Wired UK and Silvina Moschini, an entrepreneur who has worked to stimulate woman empowerment through technology, one of the main objectives of the work carried out by the everis Foundation. 

The event was also attended by the president of the everis Foundation worldwide, Noemí Sanín. Her entrepreneurial profile, international vision and link with the academic world fit perfectly with the philosophy of innovation, business drive and commitment to talent that emanates from the values that govern the everis foundation. Lawyer and socio-economist, she was president of the Colombian Financial Corporation and the first woman in America to preside over a financial entity.

Talent Week

Throughout this week, the everis Foundation has developed conferences aimed at supporting these entrepreneurs around the world develop scalable projects, sustainable, based on technological innovation and, most importantly, able to leave a transformative footprint on society. 

Always following the main objective of fostering talent and stimulating people who dare to undertake. everis Foundation has dedicated the month of November to offer help to grow their projects from all points of view;  

• Strategic sessions such as a seminar with I-deals in which the finalists together with 60 everis professionals worked specifically on each of the finalist projects or a colloquium with Cabify, the first "Spanish unicorn".  

• Legal advice from the law firm Elzaburu, leader in trademark and patent law, and they have been able to hold meetings vis a vis with the diplomatic delegations of their respective countries to explore possibilities of international expansion. 

• Financial advice, to know the entities with funding funds according to the theme of the projects, in order to promote the projects and train the winners with solutions that favor the implementation of these innovative bets.
