Wednesday, 13 October, 2021

everis-NTT DATA, a multinational technology company, has jumped on the gaming fever wagon by creating “Unlocking the future,” an e-sports tournament primarily for its professionals, but also open to university students at over 30 universities. The purpose is none other than for participants to show off their gaming skills in a competitive environment.

The competition will be held on a platform where participants can pick their favorite game: FIFA 21, Fortnite or League of Legends, three of the most famous games among gamers around the world.

The tournaments will be held on the Saturdays of October 16, 23 and 30, from which those who classify for the finals will face-off on November 6 in the grand finale, which will be rebroadcast on Twitch, the international channel of everis-NTT DATA. The official ranking will be published on November 13, while the winners will be announced and receive their prizes in the first half of December. There will be three winners per region and one per competition.

With regard to the competition format, a double-elimination system will be used (losers’ bracket), giving players who are defeated once another chance. There will also be exclusive prizes for the winners of each game and the tournament will have great visibility globally on all everis-NTT DATA channels in Latin America and Europe.

These types of initiatives are attractive to scores of young people, who can participate, compete and get to know companies like everis-NTT DATA. Increasingly more people want to add to their professionalism via their performance as videogame players, which leads to e-sports appearing more prominently on the region’s schedule, thus giving more opportunities to a greater number of people.
