The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI) has signed a bilateral agreement with everis Aerospace, Defence and Security (everis ADS) to share information on cybersecurity. The agreement, through which the company will join the Alliance’s Industry Cyber Partnership, was signed today at the NIAS 2019 event, a symposium on information security organized by the NCI in Mons, Belgium.

The general director of the NCI agency, Kevin J. Scheid, stressed that “These essential agreements contribute to maintaining NATO’s strong security position, enabling us to obtain and share the information we need to protect our networks. Cyberthreats are evolving at a rapid pace and we must be prepared to communicate with each other quickly and effectively. It's great to see our network expand and reach different parts of the Alliance".

The NATO Industry Cyber Partnership facilitates a rapid bilateral exchange of unclassified technical information related to cybersecurity threats. The information shared will be integrated into the NCI agency's 24/7 detection and prevention processes to further improve NATO's cybersecurity position.

The network, which 23 other companies in the sector have joined , encourages its members to share intrusion reports and participate in damage assessments with the Agency.

The director of the everis ADS Cybersecurity Area, Miguel Ángel Thomas, said that the company “strongly believes that this effort will benefit society as a whole, helping us fight current threats and address new challenges more efficiently. We strongly advocate this type of partnership and are committed to supporting NATO with our experience to improve cybersecurity across the world".
